The ferry from Manly is the perfect way to arrive in Sydney city.
Today’s skyline is very different from the view that the first Europeans would have seen back in 1788, but the coastline, the beaches, in inlets, the vegetation would have been similar.
The ferry leaves the protected Manly Cove, crosses the open water where the Pacific Ocean enters between North and South Head, then the ferry continues past the various bays towards Circular Quay and the city.
The iconic Harbour Bridge, Opera House and Centrepoint Tower reveal themselves, with the view of the Opera House changing as the ferry approaches the Quay.
We had fun being tourists and taking photos, including an “arty” shot of the bridge with S~E being the “hands model”. G~J took the “behind the scenes” photo.
Lovely photos. I must get to Sydney one day. I have passed through the airport a few times but never visited 🙂
