Thanks to Jude’s blog challenge for this month’s bench series, I have spent several hours on a rainy afternoon experimenting with photo editing tools. This is something new for me and has been much more fun than I expected.
So here are a few benches, with various free (www.picmonkey.com) art effects. Some effects worked well with all images but others enhanced a particular photo.
I’ll post my original photos at the end.
Temporary bench at the Hothouse at DARK MOFO
This bench against the rock was in Freycinet National Park on our walk to view Wineglass Bay.
Bench overlooking the estuary.
Bench at the park.
What are you favourite effects for each bench?
Oh and a couple more photos – a natural effect from the rain – and just funky arty seats.
Love your seats, and I use PicMonkey and enjoy it. 🙂 I really liked the table, bench and woven top.

What an enjoyable way to spend a rainy afternoon – be careful though as this stuff can become addictive! I’m not keen on the radiance effect, but I do like the way some effects bring out the texture in an image: HDR on the rock bench, and boost on the blue bench are my favourites. Thanks for joining in Ruth, I hope you do so again 🙂

Careful Ruth, you’ll be seeing benches EVERYWHERE! How’s Tassie in the winter then?

It is fascinating the changes you can effect, Ruth. Definitely a time stealer and something I do very little of. Often enough I like the original best. A good photo is a good photo, but it’s fun to play about. I like your ‘bouldery’ bench, with just a little enhancement. Desperate to have one of those red seats with a hole in the middle! (or even two 🙂 )

Thanks Jo, it’s not something I do much either. I enjoyed experimenting.
