The rainforest during a shower is a magical place. The variety of trees and ferns, the changing footpath from gravel to wooden decking.
The sounds of the birds, our footsteps and the gentle babbling of water in the nearby stream.
The water was perfectly clear but the river bed was red with copper in the bedrock. Platypus live in the river but we didn’t see any. They are shy creatures and like majority of the Australian wildlife, they are about between dusk and dawn.
The path continued upstream to Hogarth Falls.
This walk in Strahan on the western coast of Tasmania was made extra special by the information boards created by local school children. Here are some of their boards.
Beautiful photos 🙂

Love that first shot up through the canopy, Ruth! Like filigree lace 🙂 Your post is wonderfully full of atmosphere and I can just about feel the rain dripping down my neck. 🙂 Thanks for the walk!
