I don’t want to let it go,
this year of non-employment.
But finances are running out,
flowing from our bank account,
not trickling.
I want to hang on to this lifestyle,
by my fingernails.
But I have to be realistic.
I’ll have to get a job,
to stay in this place, this home,
with this view.
I need to change my mindset.
Think job, office, commute,
Monday to Friday hours.
Or something different?
But what?
I must close social media
and job search.
Seriously.
My job is to get a job.
But first, a cup of tea.
Good idea – I’ll have a cup with you

I share your pain Ruth. To be your own boss and do what please you, why can’t there be a job just for that? I am envious that you have been able to have this time for yourself, and commiserate with you that it is now coming to an end. Best wishes on the job-hunt.

Thanks Claudette. You’ll probably hear about the ups and downs of the job hunt process.

A cup of tea is a reviver! I wish you all the best for coming up with something that’s going to make your heart sing 😊

Thanks Sonia. Oh for a job that “makes my heart sing”. That is certainly a luxury.

Having spent the better portion of my corporate life in human resources, I send you the best of luck on the job search. Life is short – find one that pays what you need but is also something you like doing.
