The prompt for my “photo a day” group yesterday was … happiness is …
This morning, I’m looking back at the hundreds of photos posted by this global group and there are many recurring themes.
Family … kids … pets … nature … outdoors … beach … flowers … trees … holidays … visiting family … friendship … people … a cup of tea … a good book …… chocolate cake … a new day … taking photos … home … realising a dream … a sunny day … a favourite meal … snow day … hearing kids laughter … baking … jumping in puddles … community … an unexpected gift … music … dance … being creative (painting, quilting, knitting, etc).
In this diverse group of women and men, of all ages, from varied countries and cultures, I saw only two photos depicting happiness as a possession, a new iPad and a new camera.
Some people put a few words with their photos. Here are a few that inspired me.
Happiness is …
… mostly in our own hands.
… bumping into somewhere unexpectedly beautiful
… having time to do nothing
… found inside yourself, but blue skies, sunshine and flowers always help
… finally putting your feet up after a long day
… a form of courage
… the little things that make you smile
… a blue sky and seeing the season changing
… taking time to stop and appreciate the little things
… this moment
A quote from the Dalai Lama
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
How do you read this? happinessisnowhere
I hope you read it as a positive statement and I wish you all a happy day.
Oh, that last bit was tricky, and sadly I fell for it.

That last bit reminds me to take a second look at things as there may be a different angle.

That is a very good idea, I should do that much more often.

Many thanks Joy. Some days the words just flow. This was one such example.
