I’m not going to achieve 10,000 steps today.
It’s 28 degrees outside, I want to finish a crochet bag project and there are yacht races out on the Derwent River.
We might take an evening stroll when the heat of the day has passed, but for now I’m sitting on my balcony watching the the boats and playing with yarn.
I could earn a few steps by walking around our rented apartment, but it is only small.
The furthest I can walk indoors is 25 paces from lounge window and favourite dining chair position, to corner of bedroom. It is 15 steps from chair to end of balcony, from chair to kitchen sink, from chair to bathroom.
So I’m just going to enjoy wasting time today.
It is nice to enjoy time as it goes by sometimes.

This is one of my favourite statements – it’s been on my pantry door for many, many years. Enjoy your time Ruth 🙂

Heartily agree with the quote and, having been retired over 3 years now, no longer feel any guilt about how I spend my time. I bought a Fitbit earlier this week and am already hooked! It’s fascinating how one day can be 3000 steps (quiet day spent with my mum) and the next over 20000 (going to 3 events in different parts of the city).

It’s -28c here! Although the sun is shining, there is not much incentive to get outside! Have a lovely weekend😊

Nice quote Ruth 🙂 I thought I should warn you that Tuesday is scheduled to be 38 degrees in Perth -should be cooler rest of the week which means the sea breeze will be in!

Thanks for the warning. As I’ve not seen my daughter since August we might just find an air conditioned bar somewhere and catch up over wine. Talk soon x

If we ENJOY it then surely we haven’t WASTED it? We must take time to ensure we do enjoy the minutes as they speed by. My Uncle gave my Mum a saying that advised her to take time to “smell the roses”. We can sometimes be so busy working in our gardens that we forget the pleasure they bring just by standing still and enjoying them. Thus is life.

I’m in a photo a day group which certainly encourages me to take time each day and to “stop and smell the roses” or flowering gums or some beautiful flower.

Are you still in our lovely state of Tassie, or are you permanently here? You visited my daughter Claudette some time ago I know but I can’t remember whether she said you had moved here or are holidaying. Whatever it is Welcome to our island!
