This morning’s storm rolled around the night sky for a couple of hours. Lightening flashed although there was little thunder and even less rain.
This is my first attempt at lightening photography. A few successes while dozens of shots deleted.
These are unedited.
This is the first image again, cropped and darkened, revealing more detail in the lightening bolt.
Nice shots. I love a good storm, especially if I’m inside looking out.

I was surprised by the lack of rain. I was happy sitting out on balcony for a while watching the storm move across the sky.

Wow! That is so well done Ruth. It must be really hard taking pictures of the lightning.

Thanks Lena. There were a lot of dud photos to get these few, but that is the joy of digital, try anyway and just delete the bad shots.

Great photos. We had a 5 minute torrential downpour, lots of thunder and some lightening – but I was too lazy to get out of bed to look.

I was already awake. The joy of mid life insomnia, but then I can sleep late in the mornings!

Wow! Nice job. That looks like it was quite the storm.

It was impressive but I have a good view from our rental apartment.

Oh how I love to watch a lightning show from afar! So beautiful to see the sky light up so brilliantly & not get caught in the downpour!

Oh Ruth, you have to be happy with the photos – they’re great! I love watching storms from afar, as long as I feel safe – they are magic!

Thanks Sonia. I’ve never had such a clear view the horizon before to watch storms.
