H is for … Hobart
Hobart is a small city nestled in the foothills of Mount Wellington, along the banks of the River Derwent estuary. It’s the second oldest settlement in Australia, after Sydney.
On Monday, Hobart will have been our home for one year.
My Hobart is … waterfront … fishing boats … yachts … Tasman Bridge … river … mountain … Salamanca Market … sandstone buildings … picturesque houses … wide streets … steep streets … old and new … mountain … river … beaches … coastal paths … city squares and parks … botanical gardens … museums and galleries … café and restaurants … theatre and cinema … history and innovation … the river and the mountain.
It’s a beautiful city. I predicted you would choose ‘your Hobart’ for H.☺

Thanks Joanne. It is wonderful but mixed emotions. Haven’t seen our daughter for twelve months although weekly Skype chats. Also fun iMessages such as this week. “my bike chain came off and now lightbulb has broken. Tell Dad I am missing him right now !!! 😦 No one fixes stuff like Dad ! x”

That would definitely create mixed emotions. Technology has made distance more bearable.

Beautiful photos. I love the many rainbows that you captured, especially the one with the big yellow boat and the rainbow peeking behind it.

Thanks Cynthia. I’ve certainly noticed lots of rainbows here, but I guess I’m outdoors more and there are fewer buildings so the sky seems bigger.

Perfect combo for more rainbow photo opportunities 🙂

What an absolutely beautiful place!
I love the marina, so pretty!
We have a Hobart here in Indiana. It’s a small town, residual of industry, charming in some places, worn down in others. Locals don’t call it Hobart. They pronounce it Obert. Silly trivia 😉

Fun trivia. Thank you. I didn’t know about your Obert.

Thanks Christina. I’m enjoying review months of photos for this A2Z challenge, although it’s taking more time than I anticipated.

Same here, it’s interesting, especially reading all the other bloggers’ posts and seeing their photos but by nature I don’t do things quickly without caring too much how it looks so I end up creating a fair bit of work for myself.
