Changing Seasons – April – Autumn colours
My head knows that the seasons here in Tasmania are back to front from my UK background. So I’m posting this monthly series to record the changing seasons and to encourage my mind to grasp this southern hemisphere reality.
April has been a month of gold, orange and red. Trees and vines changing colours.
Leaves unfoot.
A few roses still in bloom.
Spectacular sun rises, or maybe they are now at an hour where I have been awake and noticed them. Perhaps I missed remarkable sunrises during the summer months. April sunsets have been spectacular too.
And finally some rain for this parched earth.
I’m joining Cardinal Guzman for his changing seasons challenge.
Gorgeous colors here, Ruth! Hooray for rain!

Fabulous photos Ruth! It’s one of the strangest aspects of blogging, sharing our upside down world.

Sure is Jo. I’m enjoying seeing spring photos and flowers too. I definitely missed daffodils here at Easter and had a virtual fix through a blog or two.

Absolutely gorgeous colours and photos….Tasmania is very like Britain in some ways isn’t it? I can see it would remind you of home.

Thanks, Gerrie. Yes it does remind me of the UK with the four distinct seasons.

Nice pics Ruth. I have always wanted to visit Tasmania in Autumn to see the native deciduous beech. For me, this is a must-see before I die.

“Fagus” the mountain beech are supposed to be spectacular, but we haven’t managed to see them yet. On our “to do” list.

No, I only got it once. Apparently you can view them at the top of the road at Mt Field – not so far to drive. Take your woolies!

Beautiful, colorful gallery. Even though I’m fully aware that you’re on the opposite side of summer and opposite side of the earth compared to us, it’s still surprising to see autumn photos now. To me April equals spring. 😀

For me too. April should be daffodils, tulips and bluebells, even after one year here. I saw sign for building works, saying will be completed by Spring 2016 and thought wow you only have a couple of weeks. They mean Oct / Nov ?!!!!!

Haha, that’s totally confusing!

We, who have grown up here, are used to this conundrum. Take Christmas for instance – we still do all the northern hemisphere stuff, even after 200 years!

A great selection of photos Ruth. I do would be very confused … like your comment on the building being completed in Spring 2016. For us Northerners, spring is now. Being topsy-turvy would be very odd trying to get used to it.
