This week’s challenge is to depict something or someone we admire.
My admiration goes to people who do jobs serving the community, jobs that I couldn’t do.
Whether that’s the surf rescue teams keeping us safe on Australia’s beautiful but sometimes dangerous beaches. To those at the front end of our emergency services.
This Firefighters Memorial in Kings Park, Perth, is pertinent to all firefighters across the country and the devastating bush fires they face each year.
Wonderful Ruth. I must admit I thought of firefighters too when I looked at the theme.

I couldn’t agree more Ruth. After the storm in Melbourne today loads more of them are doing great work.

Storms across Tassie too. Still many communities without power. Be safe.

Yes, it’s been a wild storm, no doubt about it. I wouldn’t want to be crossing Bass Strait now. Stay safe yourself.

I agree the people working in community service jobs and risking their lives are wonderful. Having lived through the bushfires in Canberra, I think those people should be paid more than politicians at times like that.

Gerrie, the pay structure is definitely out of kilter, but that is a global problem.

Enjoy your trip. Where abouts are you going? I look forward to hearing about it. We have a visitor from NZ this coming week, so I’ll be spending less time in blog world for a while too.

As Paul has never been to Italy we are going to all the big places, Venice, Florence, Rome and Sicily. Enjoy your visitors!
