Last weekend, Hobart hosted the Australian National Bonsai Convention.
These are a few of my favourites from the hundred plus exhibitions.
Some of these little trees are decades old. Such patience is required to create these natural wonders.
This is my contribution to Claudette’s Emotography series
Absolutely amazing!

They are amazing, and what an amazing patience to make these beautiful trees. Great pictures Ruth.

Thanks Pauline. I was lucky it wasn’t too crowded when we were there. Friends went later and said it was very busy and difficult to get good photos.

Love these! I’ve always wanted a bonsai tree, but I don’t think I could keep it alive. (The cats might also make it a challenge!) I’ve never seen one like the maple tree – I’ve only ever seen evergreens.

I don’t have the patience and I’m sure cats would not help 🙂

They are amazing and I also have never seen a maple bonsai. Real works of art.
But you know somehow I can’t help feeling sorry for the trees! Being kept so small must be hard and frustrating for something that wants to reach for the skies
