I’ve seen koala’s in nature parks and zoos, but today was the first time I’ve seen them in the wild, just hanging out in gum trees, strolling across the road and climbing another tree. Just awesome.

There’s a spot near the Kennett River shop where everyone stops to look at the koalas. We had a sampling site up behind there. Everytime we’d would turn up, the tourists thought it was such an injustice that they’d had to get out of the way to let us through!

Ha ha Mick. I would have been one of those tourists. That was were I saw my first wild koala, sitting in a tree, then another just strolled across the road and climbed a tree. It was such a joy to this foreigner.
