Our Great Ocean Road adventure ended at Logan’ Beach at Warrnambool where there is an extensive whale watching platform. Whales and calves are often spotted close to shore from this beach, whilst the mammals migrate between Antarctica and warmer waters. There were no whales for us unfortunately.
We did see more koalas and emus and horses taking an early morning walk along the beach and shallows.
We took the inland highway back to Melbourne and the overnight ferry back to a snow covered Tasmania.
Lovely photos Ruth.

Oh, I loved seeing them. I am actually glad that koala’s are not native to Tasmania. None in the wild here. Cos I got a crick in my neck constantly looking up into the trees searching, when we were on the mainland.

Sorry I missed your journey to Victoria. Very cold time to visit. Hope all went well.

It was an amazing trip and we were lucky with the weather, not too crowded either. I expect some parts get crowded in summer. Such a beautiful part of the country. I guess as locals, everyone takes their immediate vicinity for granted.

We actually prefer in Winter. But there are some bush walks which require full wet weather gear and heavy boots at that time; bit like Tassie.

You have been visiting my world Ruth. Do glad you like it. Warrnambool was our shopping centre…we lived inland.

Love the Great Ocean Road Ruth – we’ve driven along here a few times when we were living in Melbourne and on one occasion drove the whole way to Adelaide (broke the journey at Port Campbell). More lovely photos too 🙂
