Not all tulips are from Amsterdam.
Tasmania puts on a good show and has a thriving business in tulip bulbs.
As we drove around the lanes of Table Cape on the north west coast, fields of colour appeared around a corner, or from behind a hedge. The backdrop of ocean and the lighthouse, added to the beauty.
The flowers are in bloom for a month and one farm holds open days where the public can “tiptoe through the tulips”.
Beautiful. All lined up like a rainbow on land.

The flowers were standing tall and strong, not impacted by recent rains and winds.

It must be absolutely magnificent to see these fields full of blooms! Beautiful. Tulips are just such a job to see in the spring.

It was wonderful, Claudette. Have you been up there at tulip time?

Not really, caught the end of it one year (on a work trip I think).

Gorgeous flowers. I wonder how they keep out the rabbits and other animals. The rabbits love to eat my tulips.

Wallabies would be the problem here, but the fields are all fenced off to protect the crop.

I had no idea Tasmania farmed tulips on a such a scale. Makes me little cluster look very tiny!

It was lovely to see fields of both tulips and iris, Rosemary. Worth making the trip to the north west coast.
