Today, Hobart welcomed the first cruise ship of the season. A sign that summer is not far away.
But the weather had its own ideas, as we woke to another covering of snow on Mount Wellington.
The city is also host to a royal navy submarine at the moment.
It was exciting to see the city, waterfront and Salamanca Market so busy with tourist and naval uniforms.
I guess the weather is just as unpredictable in spring as in the autumn. I like the photos of the submarines, I have always been fascinated by them. A kind of horrifying fascination.

Submarines are fascinating and odd. I overheard a couple of kids asking all the obvious questions and not seeming satisfied with their parents answers. How do the men get inside how do they see where they are going, etc etc.

I guess it is something that is very hard to imagine, to be on a sub since there is nothing to compare it with.

Such a stunning water front. As for our weather lately, seems we’ve reverted to winter again!

I’ve had a beer on board a British sub or ship… can’t remember… about 20 years ago in my old hometown, Port Elizabeth, South Africa! (I think it was a sub… that’s why your photo stirred the memory… ) 😉
