It’s taken me a few weeks to decide on a challenge for this year. I wanted to shake it up, something different, whilst keeping a balance of themes – people, places, creativity, commitment, new things, health and lifestyle.
So here goes…
1 – Take a photography course and learn to use my camera to it’s full capability.
2 – Post on blog at least twice a week and keep up with blog reading.
3 – Connect with nature at least three times a week.
4 – Times 3 – Try to do something new each month, something out of my comfort zone.
5 – Learn to identify five different types of gum trees by their bark, leaves and size.
6 – “Pay it forward” on at least six occasions or give an unexpected gift.
7 – Times 3 – Twenty one days in the UK in March, catching up with family and friends.
8 – Introduce eight new things into our diet, not all alcohol based!
9 – Do something memorable on nine public holidays.
10 – Times 10 – Complete #100 Happy Days.
11 – Read eleven books this year, paper books, interesting, thought provoking books.
12 – Experiment with twelve new creative ideas this year.
13 – Send a hand written letter each month, more at Christmas.
14 – Lose at least fourteen pounds and maintain it!
15 – Exercise more. Complete 15,000 steps a day at least twice a week.
16 – Go to sixteen events, art exhibitions, festivals, movies or shows.
17 – Discover seventeen new places in Tasmania that we haven’t yet visited or explored.
Some great goals to focus on here Ruth. Hope your year ahead is wonderful.

I like your list – I think many of them are things we could / should all incorporate into our lives this year. Number 8 made me smile 🙂

I NEED to do #1 and #4 myself so thanks for the reminder. #6 is always a good goal. #11 I’d accomplish in less than two months because I average about 2-3 books per week. #14 would be wonderful if I could pull it off. #15 would put me in traction. Once I go over 10,000 which I don’t do every day my back hurts so bad that I can barely walk for the next couple of days. Here’s hoping you start 2018 with all your goals met. 🙂

Hi Judy. Glad my list gave you some reminders. I used to read a lot, when I commuted to work by train. Now driving, so much less time for a good book.

Sounds like a whole lot of fun!! The key, me thinks, to this 17 for 17 lark is to have fun! If it becomes a chore it won’t be worth keeping going! 😉

A fun list! I’ll be joining in soon. Is it OK if I put a link to this post on my blog – it feels so good to have company with our goals! 😉
