The Shard is the tallest building in Britain, with viewing platforms on levels 68 to 72. London is spread below, with the River Thames winding through the city.
We looked down on the Tower of London, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
We looked down on St Paul’s Cathedral, London Bridge and other bridges across the river.
We looked down on the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, but looking into the sun, we saw our own reflections.
We looked up into the blue, blue sky. We looked around at the champagne bar and other visitors.
We also visited the “Loo with the View” the most distinctive toilets I’ve seen 🙂
Loved the photos looking up! Did you use the loo? I would have!

Hi Janet. There are bars and restaurants half way up the Shard with good views. A bit expensive but nice. We did “The View from the Shard”. Enjoy your trip to London 🙂

Hi Ruth. Glad to hear from you again. Your shots of the Shard and the City are fantastic. They certainly provide a perspective of how densely packed the city is. I remember the icons well, and was glad to go to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London back in November 2015. I guess it’s not long for your return to Aus. I wish you a safe and happy trip. Love Den xx.

Wow! I have never seen this building (clearly I need another visit to London)….you must feel like a bird looking down on all of London. Lovely photos.

Hi Gerrie. I saw the Shard being built from my office window during 2009 / 2010. We were level with helicopters yesterday. It is a wonderful view on a clear day.
