This week’s challenge is to “share a surprise with us, as you see it through your lens”.
The detail of a gerbera flower.
Grains of sand on a leaf.
The intricate veins of a leaf.
The delicate structure of a feather.
The detail on bank notes, $5 Australian dollars and £5 pounds.
Really lovely photos Ruth – wonderful macro shots.

Ruth, your macros are gorgeous. Hard to choose a favourite, but perhaps the gerbera has the edge. Nice notes! I shall have to look closely at the notes I have!

Thanks Jude. The gerbera is lovely. I like the new £5 note and the hologram effect.

Hi Ruth.
The feather is a very pretty shot, and I like the Gerbera too. I have yet to get into macros on my new camera. I am having fun though. Lots of shots taken since January with it. I appear to be a digital convert!

Lovely shots, and yes I’ve found that bank notes and coins especially are very detailed. Once saw the human-sized coin prototype in the making, they spend months carving out details that get shrunken down to a size most people never get to see or appreciate.

So much effort for something we take for granted 🙂
