Today, I saw my first platypus in the wild.
Something caught our eye and we noticed a disturbance of the river bed. Then he came up to the surface, faced the current, before bending and diving back to the bottom, several times.
They are very cute and unique creatures.
How wonderful!

I remember doing a report on the platypus in junior.high. How cool for you to see it up close!

Lovely clear photos Ruth. It always makes my heart sing when I see a platypus, there is just something so soothing and innocent about them. It is wonderful that nature can make us happy with such a small thing as the sight of them. I must go for a walk around the park and see if I can see the resident one.
