The road around the Coromandel Peninsular takes you close to the water, over the hills, through a gorge. The towns are picturesque, but were busy on the weekend closing the Christmas and New Year holidays. We struggled to find a parking space.
We had some blue skies but on Sunday 5th January the skies turned an eerie orange, due to the bush fires in Australia, over two thousand kilometres away. These photos are straight from my iphone, no filters, no edits to the colour.
Coromandel is a great area to visit. Nice and rustic to some point. Glad you got to see some nice scenery. January 5th was an awful eerie day. The sky was very orange where I live. Den xx

Lovely images. I’ll never get the chance to visit NZ (won’t fly) so seeing your photographs is the next best thing.Even the final image is beautiful, like an old postcard, but I hate what has caused it. It’s been on the news here in the UK about the air quality in Sidney, hope you’re not affected where you are.
